DESCRIPTION:PROGRAM \nRice University’s Glasscock School of Continuing Studies provides fertile ground for career changers\, game-changers\, lifelong learners\, everyone in between\, and you. Each spring and fall the school offers more than 40 courses; plus free webinars\, art exhibits\, and a community of kindred spirits who love to learn. Harvest knowledge and fresh insights from outstanding Rice University faculty and other community experts. Dig into the arts\, humanities\, sciences\, social sciences\, creative writing\, photography\, studio art\, and many other fascinating subjects. These are short\, non-credit courses and programs for the public. Courses are conveniently offered during the day and evening. Most have no prerequisites and are open to all adults. Come embrace Rice University’s “unconventional wisdom” within a welcoming community of adult learners from ages 18 to 100 and beyond. Never stop learning. \nJoin Korin Brody to explore lifelong learning driven by your fascinations. The Glasscock School’s Center for Community Learning and Engagement programs feature many new opportunities each semester\, highlighting some of the most intriguing topics being explored on campus\, in our city\, and around the world. Korin will provide an overview of the Glasscock School and this spring’s course offerings open to the public. \nSPEAKER \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKorin Brody\, M.Ed.\, associate director\, Center for Community Learning and Engagement (CLE\,) helps create\, manage\, and execute short\, non-credit courses for the community. At Rice since 2017\, she is focuses on course planning\, program development\, and various special projects. Korin works closely with the CLE Assistant Dean to foster strong connections with faculty\, community experts\, and co-sponsoring organizations to extend the depth and breadth of CLE’s creative programming. Korin plays an instrumental role in cultivating relationships with local and national retirement communities and leading efforts to complement their educational programming. For more than 30 years\, Korin has worked in adult learning and professional development in both corporate and academic settings. She holds a B.A. in psychology from Lawrence University\, a Certificate in Human Resources Management from University of Southern Maine\, and a Certificate of Organizational Development from University of North Carolina – Charlotte. A lifelong learner herself\, she recently earned her M.Ed. in Lifelong Learning and Adult Education from Penn State University. Korin is also a registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) and formerly ran her own business teaching yoga classes and training yoga teachers.\n\n\n\n
