Our meeting date is the last Wednesday of the month. Special event dates will be announced. RSVPs are due by noon on the Monday prior to each meeting as online registration automatically closes at that time. If registration is closed and you find you can attend, please contact Mary Abshier to check on seating availability.

COR Houston Community of Resources Houston / So Children Can Focus on Learning

COR Houston provides essential supplies and resources for students of HISD Title I schools so that students can focus on learning.
About The Speaker
Kay Wadsden Founder and Executive Director, COR Houston Community of Resources
COR began as a book group whose members wanted to support students in some of our city’s underserved neighborhoods and formed an official partnership with HISD in 2021. Kay started COR Houston after seeing the enormous need for food, clothing, and hygiene items first hand at an HISD middle school close to her home.
During her career is as a pianist and accompanist, Kay taught at Henderson State University , the St. Louis Conservatory and Schools for the Arts and Rice University. Kay was always an active volunteer at her children’s school.
