RSVPs are due by noon on the Monday prior to each meeting as online registration automatically closes at that time. Venture Capital Trends for Houston Startups
Program
Houston’s venture capital ecosystem is coming into its own. Dr. Schmidt will discuss how Houston compares with other venture capital markets, focusing on clean energy and climate startups, and the institutional infrastructure available to help launch companies with great ideas. She is also founder of a stealth AI startup.
About The Speaker
Dr. Stephanie Schmidt earned a BS in Bioengineering at Rice University, then got her MS and PhD in Bioengineering at Stanford. She is currently enrolled in the Executive MBA Program at Rice. She spent several years as a Research Fellow at both universities.
At MD Anderson Cancer Center, she worked her way up from Research Investigator to Research Scientist in computational biology, then spent nearly 4 years as Institute Group Leader over Genomic Medicine.
This year she founded a stealth AI startup and is now a Venture Fellow at Energy Transition Ventures. Stephanie leads at the intersection of AI, data science, and business strategy, and is passionate about building innovation ecosystems.
